For our last day in Edinburgh, Professor Wolfe and HUM 1915 class went on a bus tour dubbed "The Best of Scotland in a Day." We learned an array of things from how the Jacobites failed to reinstate their desired monarch to the fact that most Scottish people prefer to think of the current queen as their First Elizabeth.
Blair Castle, owned by Duke of Atholl, is on a 145,000 acre estate of farmland, forestry, rivers, lochs, and hills. We had a quick introduction in the lobby of the castle while looking at the displays of weapons that are owned by the family and their private army.
